Shirts and bloggage...ramblings

Lars and I are meeting with the shirt guy on Monday. Everyone is sending checks so we will be good to go with the shirts prior to the hunt. Thanks to everyone for the quick response.
As I look forward to this years hunt, I am also looking forward to future hunts. I can't wait to bring my boys on their first hunt. Just thinking about that chokes me up as I'm sure it did to you old dogs. I may be blubbering when they get their first bird! I guess it's that Greek-Irish blood. The thing about being Greek-Irish is that you'll fight anyone who really pisses you off, but then you want to drink with them afterwards (as if they are your best friend)...discuss the wounds etc...I think that's also the hockey player in me. I look forward to coming up with 2009 USOPHT tee shirt. Maybe next year, I'll look into something...more formal...a sweatshirt...mock turtle neck...a polo..embroytery...finding time is the key! I look forward to seeing how Scooby and Bubba develop over the next few years. I look forward to blogging during the hunt this year so that everyone who couldn't make it (Timmy, Hugh, Nun, Lindsey...Willy's favorite) can still be a part of the experience, if only in a small way. Plus, family members can check out the days events. I hope I'm not too tired to type. You have GOT to love technology. Just today, I "Skyped" soccer girl in her dorm room while she prepared to travel to Colorado Springs and El Paso...yea, she made the travel team! Freshman, Division 1...gotta love it. Anyway, "Skype" www.skype.com is an Internet based communications program with text and video. Her laptop has a built in camera so I just ping her and she pops right up. We talk back and forth with video. It is SICK (for you old dogs, sick = cool). What makes it great is it is FREE...if you have an Internet connection and a camera, that's all you need. Actually, I don't have a camera at work (on order) so I can see her but she can't see me (we have a camera at home). Just the fact that I can set-up a blog, for free, and post all of this non-sence is amazing. Ok, back on track...I look forward to seeing the farm. Nicole was 3 the last time we were there...yikes..15 years ago. I can imagine things have changes. Now that we are getting Cisco-ized, I'm back to 4 weeks of vacation. It will be nice to have more than 2 weeks. Finally, the base coat for the camo paint is on and we're having a bit of trouble laying out the pattern. Any suggestions?

LP,

Are you taking your laptop on the hund?

If you do, hopefully you will allow me to use it to check my eBay items and e-mail during the time we are in Nebraska. If so I can leave mine at home.

Yes, technology is GRAND! But it does put certain stresses on us "old dogs" with our diminished mental, and physical capabilities.

Looking forward to getting the shirt. Has anyone decided what team hats we should bring? I dug all mine out the other day and was amazed at how many different ones we had. Red, blue, mesh back, cloth back and Camo!

I will also be bringing my team jacket, you remember the one the Nun hurled on at the old M&D bar in Wilbur? Fortunately, Missy, being the wise and wonderful wife she is, saw to it that he washed it for me and had it fresh and ready the next day!

BTW, did you get the blog posting problem taken care of??????

Scooby and Bubba will be fine, we might not be fine, but they will! Hell, why should this hund be any different than the others. There was a whole raft of dog training done during our previous hunds!

Later!

HB: D & C have a computer and a laptop which I'm sure you can use any time you wish. By the way, now google doesn't recognize me.
or my password.

LP,
Still working on the camo paint scheme for the dog trailer. Today, I replaced and packed the new bearings, replaced the tires and replaced the 'flashing' on the front box with some left over tin roof material I found at the chicken house. No extra cost!!! Tomorrow, I will finish the dog box and once we get the replacement plywood for underneath the dog box, we will be ready to re-assemble the trailer. Still to come, final painting decisions and licensing. I only hope everyone will be pleased to have the trailer there...regardless of how it looks. It WILL be FUNCTIONAL. JB

Anon,

I was having same problem with Google not recognizing my ID and PW.

Wht you need to do is sign into Google BEFORE you try and post a comment! For some reason that worked for me!

HB: I'm trying your method of getting into google. Let's see if it works for me. It didn't.

Sp,

I was having the same problem, when I went straight to a blog by clicking on LP's link when I tried to post and sign in there I could not do it! The only way it would let me post was either under the name/url or anonymous. When I wrote my comment and then tried to sign into my Google account it would not accept my user ID or PW.

By signing into my Google account first, and then going to LP's blog it works everytime.

Hello to all!

I communicated with LP this a.m. and was invited to join in the festivitites. Unfortunately, the mode of transportation leaving the South is unable to accomadate any extra bodies(yeah!) so I am forced to spend 5 hours on the airplane and arrive in Omaha on the 24th.

Let me know on this blog what you all need from the nun or the email is tmjsnun@aol.com

Did I mention that I am stoked about seeing everyone again!!!

Gadzooks!

It's alive, it's ALIVE!

The Nun is alive!

Yeah, I would much rather spend 17 hours in a Ford crew cab p/u truck than 5 hours on an airplane, ESPECIALLY the kind of airplane you will be on the get to Omaha!

Damn, TN I am glad you are coming, it's been awhile!

Just STAY away from my team jacket!
