No Upland Game Preview Yet

I've been watching the Nebraska Game and Parks site for the updated game preview but there is nothing so far....that is unless you want the 2006 or 2007 preview.
Looks like UGA is the pre-season #1 pick. They should be a great team. I understand that Nebraska is pre-season #162, right below Slippery Rock State.
Notice the counter over to the right...days until opening day.

The USOPHT Trailer

Hello All!

Looks like the trailer needs a little work although the inside looks pretty good!

JB and I are looking to get it over to his house. Hopefully we can do that in the next week or so.

We were thinking of painting it camo so the birds won't see us coming. I like the desert camo better than the deep woods camo. Maybe the General can send us the appropriate colors. Here's an example of the colors we chose:

I think it would look "sweet"! I went by Lowes and they already have those colors in a pack of spray paint. I don't want to spray paint it...it would look better with a real sprayer. I will try to get my sprayer back from the old dog.

I don't know how Scooby is going to feel about riding in the dog trailer. He may bark all the way, like D.O.G. used to do when we left him in the box. Anyway, we're ready to get started.

I exchanged emails with a Nun today who is interested in blessing our daily activities. It's always good to have a Nun with you on the hunt when you need to pray or to bless the field before the hunt. I'll give you more details from the church as they become available.

65 days until opening day!

No time to BLOG

Hi guys...Man have I been busy. Soccer girl is at school and loving Division 1 training (not), the dudes have their football jamboree this weekend, and I have been involved in 3 proposals that are all going out within 3 days. Uh, busy.

Scooby is fetching well and coming on command even outside the fence which is good. No news from trailer boy...he said his neighbor had a truck to pick up the dog trailer. Hopefully we can start getting the trailer in shape soon.

Here's an article about Soccer Girls team...and her Bio with her picture!

I'm glad the weekend is here

I've got big plans to work with Scooby this weekend. Football started for the dudes this week so I've been at the field from 6:30 - 10:00 every night this week. Dude 1 has been in pads since Wednesday. Dude 2 gets in pads tonight.
I hope to start hiding the dummy this weekend and getting Scooby to start using his nose. This will be a good test for him. I also want to go to my friends house a pop a few 410 shells to see Scooby's reaction, if any. Lightning and thunder does not seem to bother him at all. The "whoa" technique in Gun Dog is pretty interesting. Something like this....make the dog stay, walk far away, then start running away telling him OK. Stop and jump wildly in the air with the stay signal (stop hand sign) saying whoa at the same time to basically scare him into stopping. This should look interesting to my neighbors. I'll let you know how it works. Duke learned whoa just by the stop sign.
Anyone know the ramifications of a fixed male hunter vs non fixed male hunter? Just wondering if I should get him fixed to settle him down a bit. I have seen no data for or against it.
