Got my license yesterday. Nebraska has a great on-line system for your license. Easy to use. Remembers you from last year. Print your own license...but my color cartridge was out of ink so I'm afraid my license is black and white.

Once we finalize where we can hunt in Hartington, we need to decide if it is worth it to spend the night. So you NEBRASKAN's need to give us an update on the hunding in Hardingdon! By the way...make sure we have written permission to hund...while it was fun getting run off of every farm we entered "with permission", we might want to make it a little easier this year.

My back is killing me and my left leg is numb. Saw the back doc today and I am scheduled for shots the week of October 11th. That will give me 2 weeks to recover from the shots. Usually takes about 2 weeks for the cortizone to work it's way through my system...cold sweats...worth it though. I'll be doing back flips opening day!

Re-Blueing a gun

Hi folks! I've taken on a new project of taking an old rusty 20 gauge and re-bluing it. I found a great kit to do it with too. Birchwood Casey makes the kit and they have kits for all type of firearm projects. The gun had a ton of pitting and rust all over. I was just going to touch up the bluing but when I got all the way into it, it stripped the whole thing. Here is the gun (Remington Wingmaster 870) after I have removed the bluing and rust. Nice nickle barrel. I'll post more pictures after the bluing!

A dog named Scooby

Well I'm getting Scooby ready for the season. We've been working on the wing on the string which he is very good at now. I am trying to get a dove or quail that we can use for training. I want him to get used to retreiving a real bird. I have a couple of friends with farms who are going to try to bag a few dove for me. It's about 2 months to opening day so I'm getting excited. Here's a few pictures of Scooby in his favorite sleeping spot...underthe ottoman...go figure.
